Indications

Supramox S.P. belongs to the group of medical bactericides and is used for all infections caused by Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. Mostly used for infections caused by sp., Bacillus anthracis, Clostridium sp., Haemophilus Sp., Erysipelotrix rhusiopathiae, Pasteurella sp., Escerichie sp., Salmonelae sp., Staphilococcus sp., Streptococcus sp., Listerie monocitogenes. Recommended usage for all respiratory infections ( enteritis and gastroenteritis), urogenital tract infections as well as skin and join infections.

Usage and dosage

Supramox S.P. is easily dissolvable in drinking water. It can be taken using water, milk and food. Recommended dosage is 0,1 g – 0,2 g for 10 kg live weight (which is 7 mg – 14 mg of amoxicillin per 1 kg of live weight) in drinking water or milk every 12 hours for 3 – 5 days.

1. Calves: 1 g – 2 g/10 liters of water or 0,1 g – 0,2 g/10 kg of live weight every  12 hours (7 mg – 14 mg/kg live weight) for 3 – 5 days.

2. Pigs: up to 6 months of age 10 g – 20 g/100 liters of water daily or trough food 20 g – 40 g,  pigs older than 6 months of age 15 g – 30 g/100 liters of water daily or trough food 30 g – 60 g/100 kg of food for 3-5 days.

3. Broilers and turkeys: up to 4 weeks of age 6 g – 12 g/100 liters of water, for broilers older than 4 weeks of age 10 g – 20 g/100 liters of water daily for 3-5 days (which corresponds to 7 mg – 14 mg/kg of live weight).

Ducks, phaesants and quail up to 4 weeks of age are given a dose of 12 g/100 liters of water daily for 5 days, for older categories above 4 weeks of age recommended dosage is 20 g/100 liters of water daily for 5 days. It is  recommended that the entire amount of the medicine is dissolved in 5-10 liters of water or milk, only then to add desired amounts of water. In every original package there is a 10 g little dosage spoon for more accurate measures while administering the medicine.

Waiting period

Calves: meat and internal organs 20 days.

Pigs: meat and internal organs 2 days.

Broilers, turkeys, ducks, phaesants and quail: meat and internal organs 2 days

Special warnings

WARNINGS
Do not administer to animals that are sensitive to penicillin. It should not be given to rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, small rodents and all ruminant who have already developed forestomachs. It must not be given of table hens whose eggs are used for human consumption. Prohibit workers to manipulate the drug if you are sensitive to penicillin. People sensitive to penicillin may develop allergies. Supramox S.P. can not be used together with other drugs in a therapy. It belongs to a group of medicines bactericides against Gram plus bacteria and Gram minus bacteria.

SPECIAL REPORTS
Not to be administered to animals which are susceptible to penicillin and other antibiotics of the group Betalaktam. Prohibited usage of the drug on animals which are proven to be resistant to penicillins. The drug should not be given the rabbits, chinchillas, guinea pigs and all other small rodents, as well as adult ruminate. It can be used in lactating sows and during pregnancy.

SPECIAL REPORTS BY TYPE OF ANIMAL
The drug is not to be given to laying hens whose eggs are used for human consumption. Not recommended to use together with other antibiotics. If the animals do not take the recommended amount of the drug trough water  there is no guarantee to the effect of the drug. In such cases, another drug can be parenterally administered if recommended by a veterinarian. During treatment animals should be provided with good conditions in the facility in order to avoid any kind of stress. The use of medication in poultry must be in accordance with the Standards for CE 1177/2006 as well as the Commission, which brings local national norms.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE ON TARGET ANIMALS
If possible the medicine should always be administered if it is advised based on antibiogram. If antibiogram is not made then it should be based on epidemiologic information on local and regional level.

SPECIAL WARNINGS FOR PEOPLE WHO MANAGE WITH THE DRUG
People who are alergic to peniciline as well as all other drugs from the Betalaktamine group should avoid all contact with the drug. For all other people  there is no danger during dissolving and administering the drug to animal. During contact with the drug you should evade inhalation and direct contact with the drug. In case of direct contact wash hands with cold water.

REACTION TO THE DRUG (FREQUENCY AND DANGER)
People who are allergic to the drug can show reactions  in a range from skin reactions to anaphylactic shock. In case of anaphylactic shock an immediate adrenaline shot is recommended. In case of overdose with the drug or prolonged use mammals can get a mikroflora dissorder in the digestive tract and diarrhea and vomit. Most frequent allergies with mammals are  due to simoultanuesly using Penicilin G and cefalosporine. If any other symptoms are noticed a veterinarian should be notified immediately.

USE OF DRUG WHILE CARRYING, LACTATING, AND LAYING EGGS
The drug can bi administered with carrying and lactating pigs. Do not administer to laying hens whose eggs are used for human consumption.

INTERACTION OF THE DRUG WITH OTHER MEDICATIONS
A positive therapeutic effect in useing with semisynthetic peniciline and drugs from the aminoglicozyde group. Probenecide prolongs the duration of amoxicilline in the blood especially on renal infections. Fenibutazone and other antipyretics given in a combination increase the period of effect of amoxicilline.

OVERDOSE (SYMPTHOMS, WAY OF TREATMENT AND ANTIDOTES)
There are no known sympthoms of overdosing with this drug.

INCOMPATIBILITY
Do not mix amoxicilline with other drugs.

SPECIAL WAY TO PRESERVE The drug should be stored in a cold vented dark room away from heat. The dissolved supstance must be used within 24 hours. If the drug is mixed with food the expiry date is 14 days. Once opened the original package should be used within 2 months.

WARNING DURING NON HAZARDOUS REMOVAL OF THE PACKAGEING
Unused drug with its package should be non hazardously destroyed according to the law of the country where it is registered.

OTHER INFORMATION
Amoxicilline is a semi synthetic peniciline which acts as a bactericide to Gram positive bacteries bakterija (Actinobacterium spp., Bacillus anthracis, Clostridium spp., Eryshopelotrix rhusiopathie, Listerie monocytogenes, Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp.,) and Gram negative bacteries (Actinobacillus spp., Escherihia coli, Fusobacterium spp., Haemophillus spp., Mannhelmia haemolytica, Moraxella spp., Pasterella spp., Salmonella spp.,). It has a very fast reaction within the organism, far faster than ampiciline. It is very stable within the acid area of the stomach and about 80% of the solution reaches the organism.  15% of the drug is bound to the plasma proteins. It is found  faster after absorption in all organs, particularly in respiratory and urogenital organs. In these organs it is found in greater concentrations in relation to the anticipated MIC. Mostly it is excreted from the body via urine.

SHELF LIFE
2 years in its original package. After opening the packageit must be used within 2 months, and the solution of the drug should be used within 24 hours.
